Spring 2020
March 24, 2020
This has undoubtedly been one of the strangest and challenging years to confront us all for some time. As I write many of us will have exited our normal lives for lockdown amidst the current Covid-19 pandemic. This is a frightening time for everyone, particularly the vulnerable and I’d like to send all good wishes to those struggling with self-isolation and the practical as well as emotional difficulties that undoubtedly brings.
Of course artists are more used than many to working alone. Some will have studios at home in which they can continue to do so, while others will be using make shift spaces as their usual ones are off-limits. Regardless, I suspect all of us will be suffering loss of work, opportunity and income of some sort. A small plea in these troubling times to the lovely collectors, followers and appreciators out there is to remember the creative community - please continue to purchase, encourage and react positively where you can. Many exhibitions, private views, courses, workshops etc have been cancelled but resourceful galleries and individuals are putting up online replacements to compensate so please continue to explore these platforms.
In the meantime, I’d like to wish you all a safe and healthy time during this disruptive period. If we can’t get outdoors as much I’ll do my small part to bring the outside in by putting my latest landscape pieces online, though they may be smaller than usual as I’m having to work in my spare bedroom! I hope you enjoy them and thank you for all your continued interest.
