Summer 2020

July 31, 2020

Summer seems to have crept into view quite quietly amidst the stretching out of time that lockdown has brought. With it has come a resurgence of exhibition opportunities and the chance to show the new collection I’ve been building over the past few months. I’ve found not only has my recent work grown in scale, but I’ve been more experimental with materials, introducing new graphite media alongside a bolder, more abstracted approach.

I’m delighted to be back showing at Tremenheere Gallery, Penzance again this August. A bright and expansive space, Tremenheere always seems to dwarf my largest pieces, but nonetheless it’s wonderful to have them hanging in such an open, welcoming venue. This is a shared exhibition with the artist Sarah Woods, whose calmer linear seascapes provide an interesting balance to the pieces I’ve included. The gardens and outdoor sculptures are a delight and with the cafe now re-opened it’s well worth a day trip.

In other news I’ll be returning to Panter & Hall Gallery, London this November for a solo show, where the full collection of lockdown landscapes and seascapes will be on display. This is always an exciting fixture in the diary and I’m looking tremendously forward to sending the work out physically rather than virtually (fingers crossed!) as it always takes on a new identity once it reaches the eyes of a wider audience.

I do hope to see some of you at one of these shows, but as always if you’d rather pay a studio visit please do get in touch and we can socially distance over some coffee and art! Wishing you all a very happy summer in the meantime.
