2021 News

January 30, 2021

Despite tiers, restrictions and lockdowns I’ve had some fairly significant changes in 2020 with a house move and relocation at the end of the year. Cornwall continues to play an important and integral part in my work, in particular retaining my Falmouth studio complex as a base for showing work, receiving visitors and hosting events, but I’m now embarking on a new venture in neighbouring Devon where I grew up. I’m looking forward to establishing a new studio and exhibition base here, as well as being able to offer some courses and workshops when the time is right. Watch this space for photos of the developing build!

My 2020 solo exhibition at Panter and Hall Gallery, London sadly coincided with the second lockdown in November making it a virtual event only. For me a big enjoyment of gallery showings is the opportunity for my work to be viewed in the flesh and a chance to chat to new audiences, so with the ongoing uncertainties of the pandemic I’m refraining from exhibitions for now and concentrating on my sketchbook work instead. It’s been a joy to rediscover the Devon landscape and find new sources of inspiration. Devon is the third largest county in England and I’d forgotten how beautiful it was - from rolling hills to coves and coastlines I’m excited to build a new collection reflecting this variety.

I have plans afoot to exhibit in Cornwall this Autumn, restrictions allowing, and to host an open studio event at my new space once it’s all up and running. I’m also hoping to develop my print collection to include a wider selection so please do sign up to my mailing list for updates on all of this.

In the meantime, sending you all warmest wishes in these restricted times and looking very forward to seeing some of you at future shows and events before too long.
